Translation, Localization, and Subtitling

I have an excellent command of Turkish. The translations I deliver read so naturally; it is often impossible to tell them apart from texts originally written in Turkish. And that makes me a great asset, especially in marketing texts. Also, I have been translating legal / law texts since the early 2000s. I have a distinction in the DipTrans Law paper (in addition to a merit in the semi-technical Business paper and a pass in the General paper). As of May 2012, I have been a DipTrans IoLET (English – Turkish) and a Chartered Linguist (MCIL) since 2018.

I work in a team with fellow translators, and typically all my work is proofread by a second linguist. Therefore, by default, my rates for translation are inclusive of proofreading. So if you are an agency and have your own proofers or your particular assignment is “for information” and to be edited by you, I will gladly offer you a discount and skip proofing by a second linguist. However, please note that in such case, I will not be responsible for occasional –very occasional, typos that an ordinary spell-check can’t pick up. In addition, I have a British proofreader/editor (a native speaker of English). Consequently, I can also provide high-quality Turkish – English translations at no additional proofing charge to my clients.

I realised that Haluk Aka was an experienced Chartered Linguist therefore I have chosen him among other options. He quickly responded to my email that emphasised the urgency but sent very late. He sent me documents covering important information regarding his qualifications etc in addition to a perfect translation around 7am the next morning via email which was impressive. He also arranged the courier on the same day for next day delivery. Everything was conveniently and quickly completed via a few emails. He is an expert in his field, he does his job meticulously.
